18-Year-Old Jaydon Jameson Fatally Shot at Broadway & Pike

Posted on October 12, 2025 by Usainsightreport

On a quiet Thursday evening, around 8:15 p.m., gunfire erupted at the corner of Broadway and Pike in Seattle’s Capitol Hill. By the time police and medics arrived, an 18-year-old had been shot in the chest and would later die of multiple gunshot wounds. That young man has now been identified as Jaydon Jameson, from Lummi, Washington.

Officials say Jameson was hit multiple times and could not be saved. He died from those wounds, according to the King County Medical Examiner. A second person—wounded in the crossfire—was rushed to Harborview with a serious gunshot injury that night. Then on Saturday, a third victim, a male with a grazing gunshot wound, was reported arriving at Harborview. This suggests the chaos of that night’s shooting may have reached beyond the initial scene.

Police are treating the incident as an active homicide investigation. They are also examining whether this lethal shooting connects to another case only weeks ago, just a few blocks away on 10th and Pike. That earlier killing ended the life of 26-year-old Robert Fleeks, who was shot in his car shortly after picking up a pizza. The two crimes have not been publicly linked by Seattle Police, though investigators are looking closely at possible overlaps in motive or suspects.

The neighborhood is already tense. Councilmember Joy Hollingsworth (District 3) responded to the tragedy with both frustration and urgency, saying that residents “owe our neighborhood more than statements or open letters.” She unveiled a five-point public safety plan crafted specifically for Capitol Hill and First Hill, arguing for immediate and tangible action rather than hollow promises.

Her plan calls for a strengthened presence from both the Seattle Police and CARE (Community Assisted Response & Engagement) teams across the Pike/Pine corridor and along Broadway. She proposes tripling the county’s cleanup budget for Capitol Hill/First Hill, building a local “ambassador” program modeled after other city districts, and advocating for city-sanctioned shelters that bundle access to services like mental health care, sewer, electricity, and safety measures. She also emphasizes environmental improvements—better lighting, street beautification, traffic flow changes—to make public spaces less vulnerable to crime.

At the same time, city officials have recently moved to bolster safety around this very intersection. A new $400,000 closed-circuit camera system was approved around Pike/Pine to feed into SPD’s Real Time Crime Center. The Seattle Community Crisis Responders program, housed in First Hill, is also mobilizing new behavioral health officers to respond to 911 calls involving mental health crises.

Meanwhile, police are still seeking leads. No arrests have been made in the Broadway and Pike shooting, and investigators urge anyone with information to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line. For many in Capitol Hill, that stretch of Broadway and Pike has become emblematic—a place where public safety feels fragile, where residents long for both protection and hope.
