Duncan Man Killed in Late-Night Crash on SC-101

Posted on October 13, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Just past 2:40 a.m. Sunday, silence on SC Highway 101 was shattered when a sedan veered off the road near Old Woodruff Road in Spartanburg County. The car struck a ditch, flipped over, and left behind heartbreak in its wake.

The driver, 42-year-old Le’moriell Williams of Duncan, South Carolina, was the only occupant. Authorities confirmed that Williams died at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle. In a brief release, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office named him and said a forensic examination would follow Monday to determine precisely what took his life.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol have launched a full investigation into the crash. As of now, they’re pursuing all leads — from possible mechanical failure to human error and environmental factors — to pinpoint what caused Williams’s vehicle to leave the roadway. They’ve also asked witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Though details remain limited, local officials and the media have expressed deep sympathy with Williams’s community. In the early hours of Monday, the response was still somber and tentative — families and neighbors grieving, waiting for official word.

The coroner’s forthcoming forensic review is expected to shed light on Williams’s exact cause of death, which could include internal injuries, trauma from the overturning, or other medical complications tied to the crash dynamics.

In the meantime, this tragic loss has revived calls for increased caution on late-night drives. Officials remind motorists to remain alert, especially during those fragile early hours when fatigue, impaired visibility, or unexpected road conditions can turn deadly.

This community’s pain is raw, especially in Duncan and throughout Spartanburg County. As investigators work to assemble the complete picture, Williams’s story lingers — a life cut short on a quiet highway, leaving more questions than answers.
