UNIONTOWN, Ala. — On the evening of Sunday, October 12, 2025, a tragic incident occurred near U.S. Highway 80 in Uniontown, Alabama. Shermain Cain, a 21-year-old local resident, was fatally shot while seated inside his vehicle between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. The shooting took place in a typically quiet area near Jones Lounge and the Dollar General store.
Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, but despite their efforts, Cain succumbed to his injuries. The Perry County District Attorney’s Office has initiated a homicide investigation, with District Attorney Robert Turner Jr. confirming that multiple individuals have been interviewed. However, no arrests have been made at this time.
