The Opelousas Police Department is actively searching for Kera Vitatoe, a 22-year-old woman wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on October 12, 2025, in the 1000 block of Hashim Street, Opelousas, Louisiana. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Mareya Henry.
According to investigators, Vitatoe and Henry were previously involved in a personal relationship. Authorities have confirmed that Vitatoe has a history of violence toward Henry, including a prior arrest in another jurisdiction for battery against her. Detectives have gathered additional evidence linking Vitatoe to the homicide.


An arrest warrant has been issued for Vitatoe on charges of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder. Police caution that Vitatoe should be considered armed and dangerous. They advise the public not to approach her and to immediately contact local law enforcement if she is seen.
