Mabank – Three people were shot dead inside a home in the Cedar Creek Cove subdivision early Friday morning, while two others were left fighting for their lives. Deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just after 2:30 a.m., discovering multiple victims scattered across the residence.

Mabank – Authorities identified 29-year-old Christopher Kyle Reid Jr. as the suspected shooter within hours. Investigators said the violence appeared targeted toward people Reid knew, though details about the victims’ identities and conditions have not been fully released. The community is reeling from the rapid and shocking attack.

Two survivors were transported to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries, while law enforcement began piecing together the motive and sequence of events leading to the tragedy.

Ennis – Around 5 a.m., Reid was spotted driving a vehicle into the front entrance of a Buc-ee’s convenience store in Ennis, approximately 30 miles from Mabank. The crash pinned a woman in her 30s against a sales display near the door, causing serious injuries, though she was not in life-threatening condition.

Ennis – Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Reid’s vehicle struck the store. Once the vehicle stopped, Reid reportedly pulled out a firearm and shot himself in the head. He was immediately transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition, raising questions about his mental state and actions in the hours preceding the incident.

Mabank – Investigators emphasize that the shooting in Mabank was swift and contained to individuals Reid apparently knew. No other civilians in the neighborhood were harmed, and law enforcement continues to urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.

Ennis – Law enforcement from multiple agencies, including the Texas Rangers, Ennis Police, and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, are now collaborating to determine the full sequence of events. Investigators are examining evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage from both the Mabank residence and the Buc-ee’s store.

Mabank – The Cedar Creek Cove subdivision has been deeply affected by the tragedy, as neighbors express disbelief and sorrow. Local leaders and first responders are offering support to residents, providing counseling resources, and emphasizing the importance of community solidarity during this difficult time.

Ennis – The incident at Buc-ee’s, while alarming, resulted in only one additional injury. Authorities praised the quick actions of store employees and bystanders, who helped prevent further harm and assisted emergency responders in ensuring the safety of all patrons inside the store during the chaos.

Mabank – Families of the victims in Mabank are enduring unimaginable grief, and the community continues to mourn the lives lost. Officials are urging residents to keep the families and survivors in their thoughts and prayers as investigators work tirelessly to understand the motive behind the violence and ensure justice is served.
