Macon, Georgia – A tragic shooting on William Street has left three people dead, including Brandon Thomas, Quantayris Townsend, and a third victim whose identity has now been confirmed by local authorities. The incident, which took place late Friday night, has shaken the community and prompted an intensive investigation by law enforcement.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of William Street after receiving multiple calls reporting gunfire around 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside and near a residence. Emergency medical personnel were immediately called to the scene, but despite their efforts, all three victims were pronounced dead shortly after.

Witnesses in the area described hearing a series of rapid gunshots followed by the sound of cars speeding away. Some residents, startled by the commotion, initially believed it to be fireworks until police lights filled the neighborhood. Authorities quickly secured the perimeter as detectives began collecting evidence and interviewing possible witnesses to piece together what led to the deadly encounter.

Preliminary reports indicate that the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation that escalated into violence. However, investigators have not yet determined whether the victims were targeted or if the incident was random. Detectives are exploring all possible leads, including surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses that may have captured the moments before and after the shooting.

Brandon Thomas and Quantayris Townsend were both residents of Macon and described by those who knew them as friendly and hardworking individuals. The third victim, whose name was recently confirmed by the coroner’s office, was also believed to be a local resident. Family members have been notified, and authorities are working closely with them as the investigation continues.

Community members gathered at the scene on Saturday to leave flowers, candles, and messages in honor of the victims. The makeshift memorial has grown steadily throughout the weekend as friends and neighbors express their sorrow and call for an end to the violence that has plagued several neighborhoods in recent months.

Local officials have urged anyone with information to come forward. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has established a dedicated tip line for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything related to the shooting. Investigators emphasized that all tips will remain confidential and that community cooperation is essential to bringing those responsible to justice.

In a statement released Saturday evening, authorities assured the public that every available resource is being utilized to identify and apprehend the suspects. Additional patrols have been deployed in the area to ensure residents feel safe as the investigation unfolds. Law enforcement officials also reminded the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.

The deaths of the three victims mark yet another tragic chapter in Macon’s ongoing struggle with gun violence. Local leaders and community activists have renewed their calls for stronger prevention programs, youth outreach initiatives, and increased efforts to curb illegal firearms. Many say they hope this tragedy will serve as a turning point toward lasting change.

As the investigation continues, the families of Brandon Thomas, Quantayris Townsend, and the third victim are left to mourn their profound loss. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days, while the community seeks healing and justice in the wake of another senseless act of violence on William Street.
