19-year-old fatally shot amid early-morning parking-lot chaos on South Reynolds Road

Posted on November 2, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Late into the early morning hours of Sunday, what began as a gathering at the The Weekend Restaurant and Lounge in south Toledo turned into tragedy: 19-year-old Jasmine Queen was killed and two other young adults were wounded in a triple-shooting just after 3 a.m. at a business plaza near the intersection of Hill Avenue and South Reynolds Road.

Police say the party-atmosphere event spilled into the parking lot, where the shots were fired. When officers from the Toledo Police Department arrived, Jasmine was found suffering at least one gunshot wound; despite emergency aid on-scene she later died at a nearby hospital and her death is now being investigated as a homicide.

The two other victims, both believed to be between the ages of 19-20, were also shot at the scene and are hospitalized. Authorities say their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and both are expected to survive. Their names and exact conditions were not released.

In addition to human casualties, several vehicles in the plaza’s parking lot were struck by bullets, and investigators were on-scene well into Sunday morning collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. So far, no suspects have been identified and police have not released any information on motive.

Detective Lt. Dan Gerken of the Toledo Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information—including video footage from the area—to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous.

For the neighborhood of South Toledo, the incident is a stark reminder of how quickly a night out can turn devastating. Witnesses say what looked like an ordinary gathering escalated in the dark of the early hours. Police are looking at all angles—who fired the weapons, why the confrontation moved into the parking lot, and whether the party venue played any role beyond being the gathering point.

As the investigation continues, the community is left mourning the life of Jasmine Queen—just on the cusp of adulthood—and hoping the two others recovering will heal. The plaza at Hill and Reynolds remains a scene of scrutiny, and the Toledo Police Department is asking the public for help in piecing together what triggered the violence.
