Teen Still on the Run After Chesterfield Shooting Claims Life of 20-Year-Old

Posted on November 4, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Late one Saturday night in early October, the streets of Chesterfield County were rocked by a tragedy that has left families and neighbors reeling. Omarion Bryant, just 20 years old and from nearby Dinwiddie County, was found shot multiple times on Third Avenue. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Bryant succumbed to his injuries before help could reach him, leaving a heartbreakingly empty space in the lives of those who loved him.

The investigation quickly honed in on a suspect: 19-year-old Latrell Keyjuan Creighton. Within days, police issued a second-degree murder warrant, but Creighton had already vanished, leaving a trail of questions and fear. Authorities warn he is armed and dangerous, and anyone who spots him should call 911 immediately rather than approaching him. His distinctive appearance—a tall frame at 5-foot-11, about 165 pounds, black hair, brown eyes, and a prominent neck tattoo—makes him recognizable, yet elusive.

Two arrests have been made in connection to Bryant’s death, though neither is the shooter. Jalen Johnson, from Prince George County, was charged with accessory after the fact, suggesting police believe he helped Creighton evade capture. Johnson is currently held without bond in Chesterfield County Jail. Then came the arrest of Creighton’s father, 39-year-old Cordarious Berry of Hopewell, who faces charges for illegal possession of drugs and ammunition while on probation, landing him in Riverside Regional Jail.

Creighton himself remains at large, and investigators believe he may have crossed state lines to Jackson, Tennessee, possibly staying with relatives. Authorities are scrambling to determine whether anyone there is knowingly sheltering him, adding layers of complexity to an already tense investigation. The search has become a collaboration between Virginia and Tennessee law enforcement, and the community has been urged to remain vigilant and report any tips, no matter how small.

For Bryant’s family, every day without answers stretches the agony of loss. Friends describe him as full of life, someone who brightened the room with his presence, making the tragedy all the more wrenching. In the neighborhood, a sense of vulnerability hangs heavy, as parents worry about their own children and neighbors share stories of the young man whose life was cut short.

The Chesterfield County Police continue to piece together the puzzle: how Creighton planned his escape, who may have assisted him, and whether more arrests will follow. Each lead is pursued with urgency, but as days stretch into weeks, the community’s patience is tested, and the pressure on investigators intensifies.

While law enforcement works tirelessly, the story of Omarion Bryant is a stark reminder of lives disrupted in an instant, of families seeking closure, and of a community grappling with the reality of violence so close to home. The hope remains that Creighton will be found, brought to justice, and that Bryant’s loved ones may finally begin to find a measure of peace amid their grief.
