Second Suspect Arrested in Fort Worth West 7th Bar Shooting Incident

In a major development in the October 5 shooting at Social LIVV, a bar located in the 3000 block of Bledsoe Street in Fort Worth’s West 7th entertainment district, police have confirmed the arrest of a second suspect. The incident occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. when officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire inside the crowded venue.

Upon arrival, Fort Worth police officers discovered a chaotic scene. One man had been shot in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 31-year-old Patrique Allen. Five additional victims, whose names have not been publicly released, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, all five sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to make a full recovery.

The initial investigation revealed that the gunfire erupted during an altercation inside the bar, with multiple shooters believed to be involved. Witnesses reported seeing two men draw handguns before shots rang out, sending patrons scrambling for cover. Detectives later determined that the shooters fled the scene immediately after the attack. Surveillance footage and witness statements were used to identify the suspects involved.

The first arrest occurred days after the shooting when 20-year-old Akrell Ross was taken into custody following a tense SWAT standoff at a residence near the 5400 block of Huffines Boulevard. Ross surrendered without incident and was charged in connection with the fatal shooting.

On Wednesday, Police Chief Eddie Garcia announced the arrest of a second suspect, 23-year-old Jason Nash, in south Fort Worth. Nash was apprehended by officers from the department’s Intel, Fugitive, G.H.O.S.T., and Direct Response units. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific charges he faces, but both men are being held as part of a continuing homicide investigation. Police believe the shooting may have been gang-related, although the exact motive has not yet been confirmed.

Chief Garcia emphasized that the department remains focused on bringing everyone responsible to justice. He noted that this case highlights the ongoing challenges of reducing violence in Fort Worth’s nightlife areas, despite increased patrols and community engagement. “This type of reckless violence will not be tolerated in our city,” he said during a press briefing.

The West 7th district, known for its vibrant bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, has been under heightened scrutiny in recent months following several violent incidents. City officials and law enforcement have implemented new safety measures, including improved lighting, increased police presence, and partnerships with local businesses. Social LIVV, however, had reportedly opted out of participating in the city’s voluntary “Golden Lasso” safety program—a decision now under review following the tragedy.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission has temporarily suspended Social LIVV’s liquor license as investigators continue to gather evidence. Detectives are examining ballistics data, reviewing surveillance video, and interviewing additional witnesses to determine whether other suspects were involved. Police have also asked anyone with information to come forward.

The five surviving victims continue to recover, though details about their identities and conditions remain private at the request of their families. Friends and community members have set up memorials for Patrique Allen near the site of the shooting, describing him as a kind and loyal man who loved music and nightlife but was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

In summary, the Fort Worth police have now arrested both Jason Nash (23) and Akrell Ross (20) in connection with the deadly October 5 shooting that claimed the life of Patrique Allen (31) and injured five others inside Social LIVV. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to ensure justice for the victims and greater safety across the city’s West 7th entertainment corridor.
