Monroe grieves the loss of a kind-hearted man — 32-year-old Frankie Coleman killed in mid-day shooting

Posted on November 11, 2025 by Usainsightreport

In the early afternoon of Monday, November 10, 2025, the Monroe Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Parkview Apartments complex on Richwood Road in Monroe, Louisiana. Officers arrived at approximately 1:48 p.m. and found 32-year-old Frankie Coleman suffering from a gunshot wound. Efforts by emergency medical personnel to save his life were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a nearby hospital.

His passing has cast a deep shadow on the surrounding community. Those who knew him describe Frankie as genuine and generous — someone with a ready smile, a warm presence, and a willingness to help others. “Frankie had a big heart,” one friend recalled. “He was always ready to help, no matter what, and he had this smile that could light up a room.” The suddenness and senselessness of his death have left family, friends, and neighbours struggling to make sense of their loss.

At this time, authorities say the investigation remains active, and neither a suspect nor a motive has been publicly identified. The Monroe Police Department has urged anyone with information — however small — to come forward, reminding residents that tips can make a meaningful difference. Contact channels include MPD at (318) 329-2600 and the Crime Stoppers of North Delta at (318) 388-2274.

Meanwhile, the impact of Frankie’s life is reverberating online and in person. Social media entries from friends, loved ones and neighbours have poured in with pictures, memories, prayers and heartfelt tributes. One relative simply stated, “Our hearts are broken. He didn’t deserve this. All we want is peace and justice for Frankie.” The comments reflect not just sorrow, but also a collective longing for accountability and healing.

Beyond the loss of an individual, this tragedy has once more spotlighted the broader toll of gun violence in communities across Louisiana and the nation. Each life cut short ripples outward, affecting families, neighborhoods, workplaces and social circles. The incident has prompted reflections on safety, community resilience and the need for more proactive solutions.

For the people who loved Frankie, the coming days will be difficult. They’re coming together to hold onto laughter and memories, to share stories of his kindness, to grieve and to support one another. In the face of a life ended far too soon, they’re seeking comfort in each other and drawing on the strength of community.

In the end, Frankie’s story serves as a reminder: behind every headline is a human being with hopes, friendships and everyday routines. As Monroe continues its search for answers—and a community continues its mourning—what remains clear is the imprint he left: a big heart, a ready smile and a life of quiet decency that won’t be forgotten.
