In Loving Memory of Pamela Wynne Cornwell Bibbins

Pamela Wynne Cornwell Bibbins, age 69, of Talbott, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted nurse, cherished matriarch, and spirited friend, Pamela’s life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and joy.

Born on June 15, 1955, to Johnnie and Ross Cornwell, Pamela grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of kindness and service. She pursued a career in nursing, dedicating over 40 years to Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where she became known for her unwavering commitment to patient care and her warm, nurturing presence. Her colleagues and patients alike remember her as a beacon of strength and empathy, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand.

Pamela was an active member of Youngs Memorial AME Church in New Market, Tennessee, where her faith and community involvement were integral parts of her life. Her favorite activities included spoiling her grandchildren, shopping trips to Walmart, and indulging in fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts whenever the “Hot Now” sign was lit. Her favorite saying, “We’re making memories,” encapsulated her approach to life—cherishing every moment and creating lasting bonds with those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Richard Bibbins; her son, Brad (Penny) Cornwell of Dandridge, TN; her daughter, Amy Hollinger of North Carolina; granddaughters, Hannah and Haleigh Cornwell of Talbott, TN; grandson, Cameron Cornwell of Maryville, TN; great-grandchildren, Zayvion and Riyah Weaver of Talbott, TN; sisters, Donna Word of Knoxville, TN, Terri (Jimmie) Glasscock of Morristown, TN, and Bonnie (Doug) Henderson of Gatlinburg, TN; and several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ross Cornwell; her sister, Marsha Jean Cornwell; and her special aunt, Bonnie Young.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Tennova Healthcare Center Turkey Creek in Knoxville, TN, for their compassionate care during Pamela’s final days.

Celebration of Life Services:

  • Visitation: Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, TN.
  • Memorial Service: Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, TN, officiated by Rev. Charles Shipley.

Pamela’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable life.
