Yakima, WA – May 13, 2025 — A tragic scene unfolded at Chesterley Skate Park on Monday night, as Yakima police responded to a fatal shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead. The incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m., prompting an immediate and heavy police presence at the popular park, which is located in a residential neighborhood and frequently visited by local families and youth.
According to Yakima Police Department officials, the victim was discovered at the scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. Following a swift investigation, officers arrested a 22-year-old male suspect from Yakima in connection with the shooting.
