SUSPECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING HOMICIDE IN MOUNTAIN PARK

Posted on May 15, 2025 by Usainsightreport

MOUNTAIN PARK, OK — A homicide investigation is underway in Mountain Park following the death of a local man, with one suspect now in custody. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has taken the lead in the case after being requested by the Mountain Park Police Department on May 13, 2025, to investigate an assault that turned fatal.

Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a residence near the intersection of North Main Street and West Spring Street in response to a 9-1-1 call reporting an injured individual. Upon arrival, responders found 32-year-old Corey Johns with severe, life-threatening injuries. Johns was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

Preliminary findings from the joint investigation by OSBI agents and Mountain Park Police determined that Johns had been the victim of a physical assault. As evidence was collected and witness statements were gathered, law enforcement quickly identified a suspect: 37-year-old Donald Streiff. Authorities believe Streiff fled the scene before officers arrived.

Following a thorough search and coordinated efforts between agencies, Streiff was apprehended on May 14, 2025. He has been booked into the Kiowa County Jail on a complaint of First-Degree Manslaughter. Officials have emphasized that this remains an active and ongoing investigation, and additional details will be released as they become available.

The OSBI expressed gratitude for the collaborative support from the Mountain Park Police Department, the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office, and the District 3 District Attorney’s Office Task Force, all of whom played integral roles in the suspect’s swift arrest.

This case underscores the OSBI’s commitment to public safety and justice. “Protecting Oklahoma one Partnership at a time” remains more than a motto—it’s a mission.
