Posted on May 17, 2025 by Usainsightreport

With hearts broken beyond words, we announce the passing of Kashton Vogler, the beloved son of Steve Vogler, Reed-Custer Athletic Director. Kashton died tragically on Thursday, May 15, 2025 — just nine days before what would have been his 4th birthday. The news has sent shockwaves through the Reed-Custer community and beyond, as friends, family, and loved ones attempt to process the unimaginable grief of losing such a bright, joyful spirit far too soon.

Kashton was a vibrant, curious, and kind-hearted little boy whose presence could light up any room. Though his life was far too brief, his impact was immeasurable. Whether it was his infectious laughter, his boundless energy, or the way his eyes lit up at the smallest wonders — a bird in flight, a favorite toy, or a hug from his dad — Kashton left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.

To Steve Vogler, Kashton was more than a son. He was a miracle, a source of daily inspiration, and the embodiment of pure, unconditional love. Their bond was a beautiful one — full of games, bedtime stories, footballs tossed in the backyard, and countless shared moments that now live on as treasured memories. As the Reed-Custer community mourns alongside the Vogler family, there is no doubt that Steve’s love and devotion as a father was evident in everything he did, both on and off the field.

The Reed-Custer school district, student-athletes, coaches, staff, and families have come together to offer their heartfelt condolences and unwavering support to the Vogler family during this devastating time. Tributes have poured in from across the region — from handwritten notes by students to flowers left outside athletic facilities — all in honor of a life taken too soon, but never to be forgotten.

Though words fail to capture the depth of sorrow, they also strive to reflect the beauty of a young life that brought so much joy in just a few short years. Kashton’s memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered not only as the cherished son of a devoted father, but as a symbol of innocence, joy, and the power of love that knows no bounds.

In the coming days, details about services and opportunities to support the Vogler family will be shared with the community. In the meantime, we hold Steve and all of Kashton’s loved ones close in thought and prayer, lifting them up with strength, compassion, and unity in this time of overwhelming loss.

Rest in peace, sweet Kashton. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
