Graeme Dunlap Obituary – Elegant News

Posted on May 22, 2025 by Usainsightreport

PITTSBURGH, PA — With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Graeme Dunlap, a beloved son, brother, friend, and community member, who died peacefully in his sleep on May 21, 2025, at the age of 42. His sudden departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, not only in Pittsburgh, his cherished hometown, but also among countless others whose lives he touched across the country.

Graeme was born on October 14, 1982, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he spent most of his life. From a young age, he exhibited a quiet strength and a keen intellect. He was known for his boundless curiosity, thoughtful nature, and a dry wit that could light up even the darkest room. A graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, Graeme went on to earn a degree in communications and media studies from Duquesne University. Throughout his academic and professional journey, he remained deeply committed to learning, growth, and helping others.

Graeme built a successful career in the fields of marketing and digital media, where he worked with several local startups and nonprofit organizations. Known for his creativity, technical insight, and dedication to excellence, he was a respected professional who approached his work with both passion and humility. Colleagues remember him as a mentor, a collaborator, and a leader who always prioritized kindness over competition.

Beyond his professional life, Graeme was deeply connected to his community. He was a familiar and friendly face at local coffee shops, bookstores, and live music venues across Pittsburgh. He had an insatiable love for music, film, and literature, often sharing his favorite albums and authors with those close to him. A gifted writer and storyteller, Graeme had a way with words that left lasting impressions on everyone he met.

But more than anything, Graeme will be remembered for his gentle spirit, boundless empathy, and unwavering loyalty. He had a unique ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. He listened more than he spoke and always made time for those in need—whether it was a friend going through a tough time or a stranger who simply needed a kind word. His compassion was quiet but deep, and it radiated through everything he did.

Graeme’s life was a testament to the power of presence. He didn’t seek the spotlight but left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His unexpected passing is a reminder of how fragile and precious life is, and of the importance of showing love, grace, and kindness while we can.

He is survived by his loving parents, James and Patricia Dunlap of Pittsburgh; his siblings, Rachel Dunlap Matthews (Jonathan) of Harrisburg and Eli Dunlap of Pittsburgh; his nieces and nephews, who adored their “Uncle Graeme”; and countless friends, coworkers, and neighbors who were touched by his friendship.

A celebration of Graeme’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, 605 Morewood Avenue. The family invites all who knew Graeme to join them in remembering his life, sharing stories, and honoring his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Graeme’s memory to The Pittsburgh Arts Council or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Southwestern Pennsylvania, two causes close to his heart.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Graeme will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire compassion, curiosity, and connection in a world that needs more of all three.

Rest in peace, Graeme. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
