FRESNO, CA – May 21, 2025: At approximately 2:10 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District were dispatched to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) after hospital staff reported the arrival of two stabbing victims. One of the victims, referred to as Victim #1, was treated for multiple stab wounds and is currently in stable condition. The second victim, Victim #2, was in critical condition upon arrival and was rushed into emergency surgery. Following the operation, he remains in critical but stable condition.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives were able to piece together a chilling and violent sequence of events that began earlier in the afternoon near Hammond Avenue and Mariposa Street. The incident appears to have stemmed from a planned drug transaction between the victims and a group of suspects known to them.
According to the investigation, the victims had arranged to meet the suspects to purchase marijuana. During this meeting, Suspect Julian Carrillo allegedly initiated the attack by approaching one of the victims and stabbing him. The victim collapsed to the ground, where Carrillo’s mother, identified as Suspect Rosa Romero, allegedly intervened by holding the victim’s arms down, effectively preventing him from defending himself or escaping. Carrillo then reportedly stabbed the victim several more times.
In a further escalation of the incident, Suspect Aaron Robles is accused of rifling through the injured victim’s pockets, taking his car keys and cellphone while the victim lay wounded. Carrillo then descended a staircase to where the second victim was waiting in a vehicle and allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
Despite their serious injuries, Victim #1 managed to retrieve his car keys and, displaying remarkable resilience, drove himself, Victim #2, and a witness to CRMC for emergency medical treatment.
Investigation and Arrests
Night Detectives took over the case and swiftly identified all three suspects. A search warrant was obtained for the residence tied to the suspects. Upon executing the warrant, detectives discovered a crime scene littered with disturbing evidence. Inside the home, investigators found blood splatter consistent with the attack, a knife suspected to have been used in the stabbings, additional blood-stained items, and several surveillance cameras mounted externally on the property.
The scene also bore signs of a hurried attempt to clean up evidence. Detectives reported the overpowering smell of cleaning agents throughout the residence and observed fans actively drying the floors of the kitchen and living room—likely in an effort to remove traces of blood or other forensic evidence.
All three suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Fresno County Jail, where they were formally booked on multiple felony charges.
