Posted on May 25, 2025 by Usainsightreport

CANDLER COUNTY, GA – The victim of a tragic hit-and-run incident that occurred in the early morning hours on Highway 46 near the intersections of Sams Creek and Hiawatha Road has been officially identified. Candler County Coroner Jamie Anderson confirmed that Tiffany Carter, 43, of Glennville, lost her life in the crash.

Authorities believe Carter was on foot when the incident occurred. She was struck by an unknown vehicle, and the driver fled the scene, leaving behind a devastating mystery and a grieving community.

“This is a heartbreaking situation,” said Candler County Coroner Jamie Anderson. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Carter’s family during this unimaginably difficult time.”

The fatal incident was reported shortly after dawn, prompting a swift response from local and state officials. The Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Candler County Sheriff’s Office, and the Candler County Coroner’s Office are working in close coordination to investigate the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.

“Part of our job is to speak for the decedent when they cannot speak for themselves,” said Deputy Coroner Joe Carter. “We are advocating for the decedent and her family. Anyone with any information, please let us know.”

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone who may have been traveling in the area around the time of the incident or who may have surveillance or dash cam footage to come forward. No detail is too small, and even seemingly insignificant information could be vital in bringing justice for Tiffany Carter and her loved ones.

The agencies involved in the investigation are working tirelessly to piece together the events that led to Carter’s untimely death and to identify the person responsible.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Candler County Sheriff’s Office at 912-685-2835, the Georgia State Patrol, or the Candler County Coroner’s Office.

This case has struck a chord in the local community, which is mourning the loss of a woman remembered as a daughter, a friend, and a member of the Glennville area. As her family grieves, they seek not only closure but answers—and the accountability that Tiffany Carter deserves.

The investigation remains active, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available. Authorities are committed to pursuing every lead until justice is served.
