The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed to be responsible for a violent assault that occurred in the early hours of Friday, May 24, 2025.
According to KPD investigators, the suspect assaulted a 20-year-old woman inside an apartment at Union Knoxville, a student housing complex located on Cumberland Avenue. The incident reportedly took place between late Thursday night and the early morning hours of Friday. The victim sustained significant facial injuries during the attack and was transported for treatment to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
The suspect, who remains at large, is described as a male whose first name may be Jackson. A surveillance image of the individual has been released in hopes that someone will come forward with information leading to his identification. The circumstances surrounding how the suspect came to be at the apartment are still under investigation.
The Knoxville Police Department is working closely with local law enforcement partners and East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers to generate leads in the case. Community members are urged to review the image carefully and come forward if they recognize the suspect or have any relevant information.
