Statement on Today’s Tragic Storm Incident

May 30, 2025 | 9:48 AM

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we report a tragic loss of life and multiple injuries resulting from the severe storm that swept through our area earlier today. At approximately 9:48 AM, our community was struck by a powerful and unexpected weather event that has left a mark on all of us.

We regret to confirm that one individual has passed away as a result of this storm. Additionally, several others have sustained injuries, some of whom have been transported to nearby medical facilities for emergency care. Our thoughts and prayers are with every individual and family affected by this devastating incident.

At this time, we ask everyone to remain respectful and compassionate as we navigate through the unfolding aftermath of this tragedy. The name of the deceased is being withheld out of respect for the family’s privacy and to allow them the time they need to process this unimaginable loss.

Emergency responders, medical personnel, and local officials have been working tirelessly since the storm passed to ensure safety, deliver aid, and begin the process of recovery. We are grateful for their dedication and swift action in the face of such a difficult situation.

In moments like these, we are reminded of how precious life is and how vital it is for us to come together as a community. Whether through offering help, saying a prayer, or simply showing kindness to those who are hurting—every gesture matters. Our county is strong, and together we will support one another through the grief, healing, and rebuilding that lie ahead.

We are asking for continued prayers—for the family who is mourning an unimaginable loss, for those who are injured and recovering, and for everyone whose lives have been shaken by today’s storm. May we move forward with compassion, resilience, and unity.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. In the meantime, please avoid the affected areas if possible to allow emergency crews to do their work safely and efficiently.

Thank you for your empathy, your support, and your understanding during this incredibly difficult time.
