Medical Emergency at Rittmueller Middle School: 11-Year-Old Student Collapses, Condition Stable

FRANKENMUTH, MI — A sudden medical emergency at Rittmueller Middle School on East Genesee Street drew a rapid response from emergency personnel on [june 9 ], after an 11-year-old female student collapsed during the school day. The incident occurred inside the school building, prompting immediate action from faculty and staff.

At approximately [10 am ], school officials placed an emergency call after the young girl became unresponsive and passed out, triggering concern among classmates and staff. Fortunately, responders confirmed that the student was breathing when they arrived, and she was being monitored closely while receiving initial aid on-site.

Emergency Response and Current Condition

Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and local paramedics arrived at the school within minutes of the 911 call. The student, whose identity is being withheld due to her age and privacy protections, was assessed at the scene and transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation.

School administrators issued a brief statement confirming the incident and assuring parents that the child was stable and in the care of medical professionals.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we activated emergency protocols today after a student lost consciousness. Staff acted quickly and emergency responders were on-site shortly thereafter. The student is breathing and receiving medical attention,” said a spokesperson for Frankenmuth School District.

Parents of other students were notified, and the school day proceeded with additional support from counselors and administrators to help students who may have witnessed or been affected by the situation.

Community Support and Speculation

While the cause of the collapse is not yet known, speculation ranged from dehydration to a pre-existing medical condition. Health professionals caution against making assumptions until medical evaluations are complete.

Community members have expressed concern and support, with many taking to social media to send prayers and well-wishes to the student and her family.
“Our hearts go out to her and her loved ones,” wrote one parent. “We hope she recovers quickly and fully.”

Looking Ahead

Rittmueller Middle School is expected to review the event as part of its standard emergency preparedness protocols. No further disruptions to the school schedule are anticipated.

At this time, no additional information has been released about the student’s identity or medical condition beyond the initial confirmation that she is alive and breathing.
