HOMICIDE ARREST – INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN SKIATOOK

Skiatook, Oklahoma : A quiet Sunday morning in the city of Skiatook took a tragic turn as law enforcement responded to a disturbing scene that has now become the focus of an active homicide investigation.

At approximately 9:20 a.m. on June 15, the Skiatook Police Department received a 9-1-1 hang-up call originating from a residence within city limits. Although no voice communication was completed, the call prompted immediate attention from dispatch due to its nature. Officers were quickly deployed to the location.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered an unidentified individual deceased at the scene. Initial observations raised serious concerns, and authorities determined that foul play was involved. A homicide investigation was promptly launched, bringing in additional resources and investigative personnel to begin gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

As the investigation progressed throughout the morning and into the early afternoon, Chad Weathers was identified as a person of interest. Based on preliminary evidence and early findings, Weathers was taken into custody in connection with the death.

At this time, no additional suspects are being sought, though police emphasize that the investigation is ongoing and active. Detectives are continuing to collect evidence, conduct forensic analysis, and speak with individuals who may have relevant information about the events leading up to the incident.

“We understand the community’s concern and want to assure everyone that there is no ongoing threat to public safety,” said a spokesperson for the Skiatook Police Department. “This remains a sensitive investigation, and we are committed to uncovering the truth while respecting the legal process and the rights of all involved.”

It is important to note that Mr. Chad Weathers has been arrested, but has not been convicted of a crime. Under the law, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The department has urged the public to avoid speculation on social media and allow the justice system to run its course.

Out of respect for the victim and their grieving loved ones, authorities are withholding the name of the deceased until formal notification to next of kin has been completed.

The Skiatook Police Department is encouraging anyone who may have relevant information—whether they heard or saw something suspicious, or have surveillance footage from the area—to come forward. Community members can contact investigators directly at 918-396-2424.

As the city mourns and seeks answers, officials have expressed gratitude for the public’s patience, understanding, and cooperation during this heartbreaking time.

Please keep the victim’s family in your thoughts as they navigate the unimaginable pain of loss.

If you know something, say something. Your information could make all the difference.
