Orlando “Nando” Rosendo Rodriguez Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting of 23-Year-Old Victim

DILLEY, TX — Authorities have announced the arrest of Orlando “Nando” Rosendo Rodriguez, the prime suspect in the recent homicide of a 23-year-old local resident. The arrest comes less than 48 hours after the fatal incident and marks a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

On Sunday morning, shortly before 7:00 a.m., an anonymous tip provided critical information regarding Rodriguez’s whereabouts. Officers from the Dilley Police Department, working alongside Frio County Sheriff’s Deputies, responded to a local motel off Highway 85 in Dilley.

Following a coordinated and strategic operation between both agencies, Rodriguez was located at the motel and taken into custody without incident. He has since been booked into the Frio County Jail and is facing a charge of Felony-Murder.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the homicide. While the identity of the 23-year-old victim has not yet been publicly released, officials confirm that notifications to the victim’s family are in progress.

“This arrest was made possible thanks to a tip from the community and the outstanding teamwork between local law enforcement agencies,” said a spokesperson with the Frio County Sheriff’s Office. “We remain dedicated to uncovering all the facts in this case and bringing justice to the victim’s family.”

Community Mourning and Support

The tragic loss has sent shockwaves through the community, as friends and loved ones mourn the victim’s untimely death. A makeshift memorial has appeared near the scene of the incident, with residents leaving flowers, candles, and messages of remembrance.

City and county officials have extended their heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family, and have assured the public that the investigation remains active and thorough.

Call for Information

Law enforcement is urging anyone with additional details about the incident or Rodriguez’s actions leading up to his arrest to come forward. Information can be reported to the Frio County Sheriff’s Office or the Dilley Police Department, and tips may also be submitted anonymously.

“This arrest is a significant step forward,” said Dilley Police Chief Ernesto Martinez. “But the work continues. We encourage the community to stay engaged and help us ensure that justice is fully served.”

The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be shared as new details emerge.
