In Loving Memory of Misty Jefferson
Gone Too Soon – June 20, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the community of Seminole County grieves the tragic and untimely loss of Misty Jefferson, a radiant soul whose life was cut short on June 20, 2025, following a devastating vehicle accident. Misty, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and partner, was only beginning to embrace the full beauty of her journey when it was so cruelly ended.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Misty was riding as a passenger on a moped with her cherished partner, Romeo Bronc, when tragedy struck. As the pair approached an intersection, a truck reportedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with the moped with devastating force. The impact was catastrophic. Misty was pronounced dead at the scene, while Romeo was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit, where he remains in critical condition as of this writing.

A Life Full of Light and Kindness

Misty Jefferson, just 27 years old, was known throughout her community for her gentle heart, compassionate nature, and unwavering loyalty to those she loved. Whether she was lending a listening ear to a friend in need or volunteering at local shelters and outreach programs, Misty carried herself with a sense of purpose rooted in kindness.

Born and raised in Seminole County, Misty graduated from Seminole High School, where she was admired for her creativity and easy laugh. She had recently started working as a veterinary technician, a job that combined her deep love for animals with her natural instinct to care for others.

“She had the kind of smile that made you feel like everything would be okay,” said her coworker and friend, Angela Rivera. “Misty made the world a better place just by being in it. This loss is unimaginable.”

Love and Tragedy

Misty and Romeo had been together for nearly three years. Friends described their relationship as loving, loyal, and full of laughter. The two were planning a future together—one that included dreams of travel, building a home, and maybe one day starting a family. The accident has not only claimed Misty’s life, but it has left Romeo fighting for his.

“They were inseparable,” said a mutual friend, Damon Wells. “The kind of love they had, it’s rare. To see it end this way is unbearable.”

A Community United in Grief

As word of the accident spread, an outpouring of grief flooded social media. Photos, tributes, and heartfelt messages painted the picture of a woman whose impact was far-reaching and deeply felt.

A candlelight vigil is being planned near the site of the crash on County Road 426, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor Misty’s memory. The community has also set up a GoFundMe page to assist Misty’s family with funeral expenses and to support Romeo’s ongoing medical care.

“We want Misty to be remembered for the love she gave, the joy she brought, and the way she made people feel seen and valued,” said her cousin, Tiana Jefferson. “We are broken, but we will keep her light alive.”

A Call for Road Safety

In the wake of Misty’s death, local leaders are renewing calls for increased driver awareness and roadway accountability, especially in areas where moped and pedestrian traffic is common. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released information on whether charges will be filed against the driver of the truck.

Honoring a Beautiful Life

Misty’s funeral will be held at Grace Memorial Chapel in Sanford, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The service will be open to the public, and all who knew Misty—or were touched by her story—are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

Though her life was heartbreakingly short, Misty Jefferson leaves behind a legacy of compassion, gentleness, and love. In every animal she cared for, every friend she lifted up, and every smile she gave to strangers, her spirit lives on.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”

Rest peacefully, Misty. You will be missed more than words can say, and you will be remembered always.
