BRPD Homicide detectives, with critical support from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, have taken Eriq Overstreet, 27, into custody. Overstreet has been formally charged with Second-Degree Murder following an intense manhunt and investigative efforts that led to his apprehension.
According to investigators, Overstreet and Griffin were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire. Detectives believe that during the confrontation, Overstreet produced a firearm and shot Griffin before fleeing the scene.
