Leduc Man Arrested in ALERT ICE Investigation: Campbell Fergusson Faces 27 Charges, Six Victims Identified

Posted on July 2, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Leduc, AB – A disturbing investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams’ (ALERT) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has led to the arrest of 49-year-old Campbell Fergusson of Leduc. Fergusson now faces 27 serious charges related to the luring, exploitation, and production of child pornography, and police are urging additional victims to come forward as the investigation continues.

The ICE Unit launched the investigation in April 2025, following a report received through Cybertip.ca, Canada’s national tipline for reporting online child exploitation. According to an ALERT news release, Fergusson allegedly targeted teenage girls between the ages of 15 and 16 in the Edmonton area, using social media platforms such as Snapchat to communicate with and manipulate his victims.

Investigators allege that Fergusson used multiple online personas to lure underage girls, eventually arranging in-person meetings for the purpose of committing sexual acts.

Arrest and Search Warrant Execution

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, ALERT, in collaboration with the Leduc RCMP’s Target Response Unit and General Investigation Section (GIS), executed a search warrant at Fergusson’s residence in Leduc. During the operation, officers arrested Fergusson without incident and seized multiple electronic devices, including a smartphone and a laptop.

A preliminary forensic analysis of the devices has already uncovered images and videos involving child exploitation. As a result, investigators have successfully identified six victims—but authorities believe there may be more.

“Our investigators and forensic technicians have successfully identified six victims linked to Mr. Fergusson, but this investigation doesn’t stop here,” said Detective Christine Sawatsky with ALERT ICE. “We have reason to believe there are more victims we have yet to identify as we continue to discover images and videos on these devices.”

Social Media Usernames Released

To encourage potential victims or witnesses to come forward, police have released several usernames and aliases that Fergusson allegedly used during the exploitation:

  • burkeishere2525
  • devonhouston25
  • keenonhedstrom
  • treyliles2424
  • Burke (pseudonym)

“We hope that by releasing his usernames, more victims will be encouraged to come forward and speak with police,” said Det. Sawatsky. “We want survivors to know that help is available, and we are working closely with support services like the Zebra Child and Youth Advocacy Centre to ensure that anyone who comes forward receives the care and protection they need.”

Charges Filed

Campbell Fergusson is currently in custody, facing the following 27 charges:

  • Make child pornography (6 counts)
  • Possess child pornography (6 counts)
  • Luring a child (6 counts)
  • Communication for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with a person under 18 (6 counts)
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a child (2 counts)
  • Transmit child pornography (1 count)

Fergusson’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 3, 2025.

Call for Public Assistance

Investigators are urging anyone who may have been contacted by Campbell Fergusson or his online aliases to come forward. They are also asking the public to remain vigilant and monitor children’s online activity.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can remain anonymous, and support is available to victims who come forward.

Community Shocked, Advocates Rally

The arrest has sent shockwaves through Leduc and surrounding communities. Parents, educators, and child protection advocates are calling for greater awareness and safety measures in online environments.

“This case is a stark reminder that predators can hide behind screens, using technology to access and harm children,” said one local advocate. “We must educate ourselves, support our kids, and ensure that justice is delivered.”

As the investigation continues, ALERT ICE has committed to uncovering the full scope of Fergusson’s actions and ensuring that all victims receive justice and healing.
