ALBANY, GA — A tragic act of violence claimed the life of 56-year-old Patricia Duncan on the evening of Thursday, July 3, 2025, when officers with the Albany Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 2400 block of Leonard Avenue. What began as a quiet summer night quickly turned into a scene of heartbreak and loss.

Patricia, a longtime Albany resident, is being remembered as a kindhearted woman known for her warmth, grace, and dedication to her family. Her sudden and violent death has left her loved ones and neighbors reeling.

The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation into the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released details about potential suspects or a possible motive. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Patricia Duncan,” said an APD spokesperson. “This kind of violence is devastating to a community, and we are working diligently to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”

“She was a beautiful person inside and out,” said a neighbor. “She didn’t deserve this. We’re heartbroken and praying for her family.”

As the investigation continues and the community gathers to mourn, there is a shared hope that justice will be served for Patricia Duncan, whose life was senselessly taken far too soon.
