In Loving Memory of Coach Joe Monmonier Longtime Athletic Director and Beloved Member of the Seahawk Family

Posted on July 10, 2025 by Usainsightreport

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Coach Joe Monmonier, a pillar of our community, a respected leader, and a cherished member of the Seahawk family. Coach Monmonier’s passing marks the end of an era—one defined by dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to student-athletes and the values of teamwork, discipline, and integrity.

For decades, Coach Monmonier served as the Athletic Director and mentor at our school, shaping not just the direction of the athletic department, but the lives of countless students, coaches, and families who had the honor of learning under his guidance. He wasn’t just a coach—he was a father figure, a motivator, a friend, and a fierce advocate for the youth he believed in so deeply.

Coach Monmonier had a presence that could command a room and a heart that could uplift a spirit. Whether he was on the sidelines calling plays, organizing team events, cheering from the stands, or quietly offering words of encouragement, he carried himself with grace, wisdom, and humility. His love for the game was matched only by his love for his students.

He believed in the power of sports not just to build athletes, but to build character—to teach perseverance, humility in victory, and grace in defeat. Under his leadership, the Seahawk athletic program flourished, earning respect not just for wins and championships, but for its culture of excellence and sportsmanship.

To his colleagues, Coach Monmonier was a leader in every sense of the word. He mentored fellow coaches, advocated for resources to support student programs, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success and safety of every Seahawk athlete. His knowledge of sports, coupled with his deep care for every individual, made him a cornerstone of our school’s legacy.

To the students and athletes, he was the heart of the program. Generations of Seahawks remember the sound of his voice booming across the gym, his encouraging claps during practice, and his warm, reassuring presence before every big game. Many former students credit Coach Monmonier with shaping their paths in life, instilling in them the discipline and confidence that carried far beyond the field.

To his family, Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather—a man who balanced the demands of his work with the quiet strength of a devoted family man. His pride in his loved ones was evident in every conversation, every story, and every smile. The values he lived by—hard work, loyalty, kindness—were the same values he passed down to his family and his teams.

His passing leaves an enormous void in our hearts, but his impact is immeasurable and enduring. In the halls of our school, on the courts and fields he walked so many times, and in the spirit of every Seahawk athlete who laces up their shoes with purpose and pride—Coach Monmonier’s legacy lives on.

Plans for a celebration of life and memorial service will be shared with the community in the coming days. In the meantime, we invite all who knew and loved Coach Monmonier to honor his memory by continuing his work: supporting one another, lifting others up, and giving your all—on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

Rest in peace, Coach Joe Monmonier.
Thank you for your service, your leadership, your heart, and your unwavering belief in the power of young people. You will forever be a part of the Seahawk family, and you will never be forgotten.
