Fatal Crash Claims Life of 72-Year-Old Man in Southeast Oklahoma

A 72-year-old man died following a rollover crash on Wednesday night in southeast Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on State Highway 7 in Johnston County, near Wapanucka.

Troopers reported that 55-year-old Christi Burnham of Wilburton was driving eastbound when her vehicle veered off the road and rolled over. Burnham told authorities she fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the loss of control.

The passenger, identified as 72-year-old Bobby Coley of Whitesboro, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene. Burnham was transported to a nearby hospital, where she received treatment and was subsequently released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
