At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers from the Achille Police Department responded to a residence near South Seventh Avenue and A Avenue in Achille, Oklahoma, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 68-year-old James Roy Scoggins deceased at the scene. Preliminary investigations determined that Scoggins had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Following a thorough investigation, special agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) identified 44-year-old Justin Michael Stone as the suspect in the homicide. Stone was apprehended by the Colbert Police Department in Colbert, Oklahoma, and subsequently booked into the Bryan County Jail on a First-Degree Murder complaint. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
