LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening at the Executive Inn, located at 44th Street and Avenue Q, which left 34-year-old Keyarie Wartson seriously injured.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 6:46 p.m. on July 25, 2025. Upon arrival, they found Wartson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to authorities, Wartson was shot by an unknown male suspect at the motel and fled to a nearby room seeking help.
Emergency medical services quickly transported Wartson to University Medical Center, where she was treated for serious injuries. As of the latest updates, her current condition has not been publicly disclosed.
