Community Mourns Young Woman Killed in Danville Shooting After Heated Argument

DANVILLE, Va. — The Danville community is reeling from the heartbreaking loss of Ketasha Fuller, a 23-year-old woman who was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The Danville Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Cooper Street at approximately 3:36 a.m. following a noise complaint about a large gathering. After dispersing the crowd, officers began to leave the scene when they heard a single gunshot, prompting their immediate return.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Ketasha Fuller, a Danville resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was swiftly transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased despite medical efforts.

Video footage obtained from the scene revealed that Fuller was engaged in a verbal dispute with a male individual moments before the shooting. The footage shows the man drawing a handgun and firing a single shot, which struck Fuller. The Danville Police Department has identified the incident as a homicide and is actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspect. No arrests have been announced as of the latest updates.
