DANVILLE, Va. — A 23-year-old woman lost her life in a shooting on Cooper Street early Sunday morning, July 27, 2025. The Danville Police Department is actively investigating the incident as a homicide and is seeking public assistance to identify the suspect and bring justice to the victim’s family.
At approximately 3:36 a.m., officers responded to a noise complaint in the 100 block of Cooper Street, where a street gathering was taking place. After dispersing the crowd without incident, police were leaving the area when they heard a single gunshot. Returning immediately to the scene, officers discovered Ketasha Fuller, a Danville resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Fuller was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, leaving the community in mourning over the loss of a young life.
Surveillance footage obtained from the scene revealed a heated argument between Fuller and an unidentified man moments before the shooting. The video shows the man drawing a handgun and firing a single shot that fatally wounded Fuller. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
