Arkansas Couple Fatally Attacked on Hiking Trail, Leaving Two Young Daughters Unharmed

Posted on July 28, 2025 by Usainsightreport

WEST FORK, Ark. — Arkansas State Police (ASP) are actively investigating a double homicide at Devil’s Den State Park in West Fork, where a couple was found dead on a hiking trail at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The suspect remains at large and is considered dangerous.

On Sunday, July 27, ASP identified the victims as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, a married couple who had recently moved to Prairie Grove, Arkansas, from another state. The Brinks were hiking with their two daughters, ages 7 and 9, when they were fatally attacked. The children were unharmed and are now safe with family members.

Initially described as a white male wearing dark shorts, a tank top, and weightlifting gloves, the suspect’s description was updated based on new information. He is now believed to be a white male of medium build, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ballcap, sunglasses, fingerless gloves, and carrying a black backpack. The suspect was last seen driving toward a park exit in a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with its license plate obscured by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle may have been traveling on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park.

ASP is urging anyone who visited Devil’s Den State Park on July 26 to review cellphone photos, videos, or GoPro footage for potential images of the suspect or his vehicle. Residents in the surrounding area are asked to check security or game camera footage for suspicious activity. Those with relevant information should contact ASP Troop L at (479) 751-6663. Investigators have requested that photos or videos not be posted on social media, as this could jeopardize the investigation.

“We are using all available resources to apprehend this suspect and bring him to justice,” said ASP Colonel Mike Hagar. “I want to thank the public and our media partners for their support as we pursue the man responsible for this heinous crime.” ASP is collaborating with local, state, and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, which is prepared to assist as needed.

In response to the incident, the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has increased law enforcement presence across all state parks. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil’s Den State Park,” said Secretary Shea Lewis. “Our hearts are with the victims’ loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders expressed her condolences, stating, “We are heartbroken by today’s horrific news from Devil’s Den State Park and are in close contact with State Police and the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism as they work to apprehend the suspect. We are praying for the family and friends of the victims, and know that law enforcement will not rest until the perpetrator is brought to justice.”

The area of the park where the incident occurred remains cordoned off and secured by law enforcement, with all trails closed until further notice. The investigation is ongoing, and ASP will provide updates as new information becomes available.
