On Sunday, July 27, 2025, just before midnight, the Sandersville Police Department, along with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, responded to reports of a shooting at Washington Manor Apartments, located at 700 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Sandersville, Georgia. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered two individuals who had been shot.
One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other was promptly transported to Washington County Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Eastman Office has been notified and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or specific details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting.
