The Milwaukee Police Department is urgently requesting the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Jamyla Norwood, who is considered critically missing and endangered. Jamyla was last in contact with her family on Monday afternoon, July 28, 2025, at approximately 3:26 p.m. She was believed to be in the area of North 24th Street and West Burleigh Street in Milwaukee, on foot.
According to authorities, Jamyla’s mother received multiple threatening text messages from unknown numbers at around 3:53 p.m. on the same day, stating that her daughter was dead. During a phone call with Jamyla, her mother overheard a female voice in the background threatening to “beat Jamyla and push her down the stairs.” The call abruptly disconnected, and there has been no contact with Jamyla since. Her mother believes she is in immediate danger.
Jamyla is described as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing around 120 pounds, with brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink bonnet, a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and yellow and black shoes. Police have noted that she has no money or access to transportation and is likely traveling on foot.
