22-Year-Old Nazirah Eason Dies in Raleigh Crash After Being Ejected from SUV

Posted on August 17, 2025 by Usainsightreport

In the quiet hours before dawn on Sunday, August 17, 2025, the vibrant North Hills area of Raleigh, North Carolina, was struck by tragedy. At the bustling intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mill roads, near the North Hills Shopping Center, a devastating two-vehicle collision claimed the life of 22-year-old Nazirah Eason, leaving a community in mourning and hearts heavy with grief.

Raleigh police were called to the scene at approximately 2:40 a.m. after reports of a severe crash. When officers arrived, they were met with a harrowing sight: a white Ford pickup truck with its front end crumpled from the force of impact and a Dodge Journey SUV flipped onto its side, debris scattered across the roadway like fragments of a shattered moment. Amid the wreckage, they found Nazirah Eason, the driver of the SUV, lying in the southbound lanes of Six Forks Road. She had been ejected from her vehicle, a stark consequence of not wearing a seatbelt. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts, their hands working frantically in the dim glow of streetlights, but despite their desperate attempts and the swift arrival of Wake EMS, Nazirah was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations by the Raleigh Police Department paint a sobering picture of the moments leading up to the crash. Authorities believe Nazirah may have run a red light, a split-second decision that set the stage for the catastrophic collision with the pickup truck. The impact was so severe that it overturned her SUV, sending it skidding across the pavement and leaving her vulnerable in the chaos. As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing, with police meticulously piecing together the events to understand the full scope of what happened that fateful morning.

The crash site, located just steps from the lively North Hills Shopping Center, was cordoned off for hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene. Six Forks Road, a vital artery of the city, was closed between Lassiter Mill Road and Dartmouth Road, forcing early-morning commuters to navigate detours while investigators combed through the wreckage. The overturned SUV, the mangled pickup, and the debris strewn across the road served as a grim reminder of how quickly life can change.

Nazirah Eason was more than a name in a news report—she was a young woman with dreams, a student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a vibrant soul whose life was cut tragically short. Her passing has sent ripples of sorrow through her family, friends, and the broader Raleigh community. Known for her connection to the city, Nazirah’s LinkedIn profile reflects her ambition and her ties to Raleigh, where she was pursuing her education and building a future. Now, that future has been stolen, leaving those who knew her to grapple with the weight of her absence.

This tragedy underscores the fragility of life and the critical importance of road safety. The absence of a seatbelt in Nazirah’s case transformed a survivable accident into an unthinkable loss, a fact that weighs heavily on the hearts of those who hear her story. As the Raleigh community reflects on this devastating event, it serves as a poignant reminder to buckle up, to drive with care, and to cherish every moment with those we hold dear.

Nazirah Eason’s life ended far too soon, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. In the quiet streets of North Hills, where the hum of life continues, her story stands as a call for vigilance, compassion, and a renewed commitment to keeping our roads safe for all.
