Everyone at Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre is deeply saddened as we say goodbye to Patsy, a cherished friend and unwavering supporter of our community. It is difficult to put into words the impact Patsy has had on our centre, our work, and on the lives of so many who came through our doors.
Patsy was more than just the familiar, friendly voice behind the mic at Cavan Online Radio—he was a beacon of compassion, kindness, and genuine interest in the people and events that make our community special. Whenever we had an event, whether large or small, we could always count on Patsy to be there. With his warm presence and professional dedication, he helped us share our stories, celebrate our achievements, and connect with the wider community in ways that brought meaning and joy.
What made Patsy so special was the heart he brought to everything he did. He didn’t just report on our work—he believed in it. He listened carefully, supported us wholeheartedly, and helped amplify the voices of those who often go unheard. His empathy, sincerity, and ever-present smile made everyone feel at ease, and his belief in the power of community shone through every broadcast.
The loss of Patsy is not just a loss for us at Teach Oscail, but for the entire Cavan community. We will miss his encouraging words, his laughter, and his incredible spirit. It is rare to meet someone who leaves such a lasting impression, but Patsy did just that—through his kindness, his service, and his deep-rooted commitment to community life.
