Akron Woman Sentenced to Life in Prison for Crimes Against a Young Child

Posted on July 2, 2025 by Usainsightreport

Akron, OH – A 39-year-old woman from Akron, Kristina Jacobson, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following her conviction on multiple serious charges involving the abuse and exploitation of a very young child.

A Summit County jury found Jacobson guilty of:

  • Rape
  • Gross Sexual Imposition
  • Illegal Use of a Minor or Impaired Person in Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance

In addition to the life sentence, Jacobson is now required to register as a sex offender for life. Her sentencing marks the end of a deeply troubling case that has caused widespread concern throughout the community.

“Kristina Jacobson abused an innocent child’s vulnerability and inability to defend or advocate for herself,” said Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich. “There is simply no excuse for this abhorrent crime.”

Husband Also Sentenced in Related Case

Jacobson’s husband, 45-year-old Scott Jacobson, was also sentenced to life in prison in connection with separate offenses involving two minors. He was convicted of:

  • Multiple counts of Rape
  • Gross Sexual Imposition
  • 10 counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Material Involving a Minor

Investigators uncovered digital evidence that played a significant role in both cases, ultimately leading to the arrests and convictions of both defendants.

Prior to the charges, Kristina Jacobson frequently posted on social media, often sharing photos with young children and pets, giving no indication of the activities that would later come to light during the investigation.

Authorities have emphasized that both Kristina and Scott Jacobson will never be eligible for parole, ensuring they will remain incarcerated for the remainder of their lives.

The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the successful prosecution reflects a firm commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of society and ensuring that those who cause harm are held fully accountable under the law.

Anyone with concerns about potential abuse or exploitation is urged to contact local authorities or child protection agencies immediately.
