MIDLAND, MI — Authorities in Midland are actively investigating an armed robbery that took place Saturday afternoon at the Check Into Cash location on South Saginaw Road. The incident occurred on May 24th, 2025, prompting an immediate police response and launching a multi-agency investigation.
At approximately 4:17 p.m., Midland Police Department officers were dispatched to the financial services business after Midland County Central Dispatch received a holdup alarm. Shortly thereafter, dispatch confirmed that an armed robbery had indeed taken place at the location.
According to initial reports and interviews conducted at the scene, two masked suspects entered the store brandishing firearms. The lone employee on duty at the time told officers that the men demanded cash. Fearing for their safety, the employee complied with the suspects’ demands. The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
The suspects were described as follows:
•Suspect #1 is a Black male with a heavier build. He was wearing all black, had his hood up, and a partial face covering.
•Suspect #2 is a Black male with a skinny build. He was dressed in navy-colored clothing, also with his hood up and a partial face covering.
Authorities believe the suspects fled the area on foot immediately after the robbery but may have entered a nearby vehicle shortly afterward. A thorough search of the surrounding area was conducted by responding officers, but the suspects were not located.
The Midland Police Department has confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the business and nearby establishments and are encouraging members of the community to come forward with any information that might assist in identifying and apprehending the suspects.
Police expressed appreciation for the rapid support provided by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police, who assisted in securing the area and beginning the preliminary investigation.
