Baby’s Life Taken: Monroe Reels After Brutal Triple Homicide”

Posted on October 29, 2025 by Usainsightreport

In the early morning hours of October 28, a quiet block of Grammont Street in Monroe was shattered by a violent act that has left the city stunned and seeking answers. Three bodies were discovered—each bearing a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Among them was a toddler, defenseless and innocent, a grim reminder of how deeply this crime cuts.

According to police, the victims have been identified as 26-year-old Jaborris Simpson, his two-year-old daughter Jhersi Simpson, and another adult male, Jamal Bosley. The scene was grim: all three were found deceased at the location. Authorities have made clear: this was no random attack. The suspect was known to the victims, and narcotics likely played a role. Drugs are considered a contributing factor, officials announced during a press briefing.

At the press conference, Monroe Mayor Friday Ellis and Police Chief Vic Zordan spoke with heavy hearts. The Mayor offered a $5,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest, urging the public to unite and speak out. “This is a tragedy that has shaken our city,” Ellis said, describing the death of the little girl as especially heartbreaking. “We are asking the public to stand with us, share any information they may have, and help bring justice to this family.”

Chief Zordan didn’t mince words: “You’ve got a baby killer running loose,” he said, referring to the person—or persons—responsible. Still, he added, detectives are following what they believe are strong leads. “We have some very good leads, by some fine detective work, that are leading us in the right direction,” he noted, even as he pleaded with the community to let law enforcement do its work and avoid retaliatory violence.

Mayor Ellis called the shooting a moral wake-up call, saying that while progress had been made in crime reduction, there is still overwhelming work ahead. He described the loss of a defenseless child as “life taken … by people with evil intentions.” The gravity of the situation was not lost on anyone present.

Investigators say the suspect and victims knew each other, reinforcing the idea that this was targeted, not random. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, reviewing forensic evidence, and following every tip they can. But as of now, no arrests have been announced.

The community remains in shock. Neighbors describe the neighborhood as one ordinarily quiet at night, now haunted by questions and fear. Families, faith groups, and civic organizations are watching closely, hoping someone steps forward. Meanwhile, law enforcement is urging anyone—even with small pieces of information—to come forward via Monroe Police or Crime Stoppers of North Delta. Tips can be anonymous, and the reward remains.

A city mourns three lives lost, most painfully one so young; now it waits—with grief, fear, and hope—for the day when the person or persons responsible are brought to justice.
