Brandon Lamar Harris Arrested in June 20 Shooting; Tremanye Tobias Harris Still Wanted

Elizabeth City, NC — June 27, 2025 — The Elizabeth City Police Department has arrested one of two suspects connected to a June 20 shooting that left a man injured. Brandon Lamar Harris, age 39, was taken into custody Friday and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill or Inflicting Serious Injury in connection to the shooting of Lamont Riddick, 47, in the 1500 block of West Ehringhaus Street.

Harris was processed at the magistrate’s office and transported to the Albemarle District Jail, where he is being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in Pasquotank County District Court.

Authorities continue to search for the second suspect, Tremanye Tobias Harris, age 30, who remains at large. Tremanye is wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill or Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Police consider him armed and dangerous and are urging the public not to approach him.

Incident Background

On Friday, June 20, 2025, at approximately 4:31 p.m., Elizabeth City Police officers were dispatched to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of West Ehringhaus Street. Upon arrival, officers located Lamont Riddick, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Riddick was promptly transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition.

Following a swift investigation, warrants were issued on June 25 for both Brandon Lamar Harris and Tremanye Tobias Harris, linking them to the shooting. Authorities say both men should be regarded as dangerous, and any sightings should be reported immediately.

Ongoing Investigation

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Law enforcement officials are asking the community for assistance in locating Tremanye Tobias Harris.

“If you have any information that could help us locate Mr. Harris or further this investigation, we ask you to come forward,” said Interim Chief Eddie Graham. “The safety of our community is our top priority, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure justice is served.”
