CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Chicago Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Daniela Alexandra Barahona Perdomo, who has been reported missing from the Humboldt Park neighborhood since Tuesday morning. Concern and urgency now surround the case as family members, neighbors, and authorities join efforts to bring the young girl home safely.

According to police, Daniela was last seen around 7:30 a.m. at her residence in the 1400 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, located in the heart of the Humboldt Park area. The teen was reportedly preparing to head out that morning but never returned home, prompting her family to contact authorities soon after.

At the time of her disappearance, Daniela was wearing a gray Pritzker College Prep sweatshirt, black pants, white shoes, and carrying a black backpack. Her family and classmates have described her as a kind, bright, and motivated student who attends Pritzker College Prep, where staff and peers have expressed deep concern for her safety and wellbeing.

Police have classified the case as one involving an endangered missing person, though no specific details regarding the circumstances or possible risk factors have been released. Law enforcement continues to gather leads, review surveillance footage from the area, and interview potential witnesses who may have seen Daniela after she was last spotted Tuesday morning.

Community members in Humboldt Park have mobilized quickly, organizing small search groups, distributing flyers, and sharing information across social media platforms. Residents have been urged to stay alert, especially around neighborhood parks, bus stops, and nearby shopping areas where teens frequently gather.

Daniela is described as approximately 5 feet tall, weighing around 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Chicago police have emphasized the importance of public cooperation, noting that even minor details can make a major difference in missing person investigations.

As of Wednesday, Area Five detectives are leading the case and working around the clock to locate Daniela. Officers have been in direct contact with her family, providing updates and coordinating with local schools and community centers in hopes of generating new information.

Authorities have urged anyone who might have seen Daniela or who may possess relevant information about her whereabouts to contact the Chicago Police Department’s Area Five detectives at (312) 746-6554. Anonymous tips are also welcomed, and residents are encouraged to call immediately rather than post unverified claims online.

The search continues to draw attention across the city, with numerous advocacy groups and youth organizations offering support to the family. Candlelight gatherings and prayer circles are being discussed as the community rallies together in hope and solidarity.

In times like this, the city of Chicago often shows its strength through unity and compassion. Loved ones remain hopeful that Daniela will soon be found safe and returned home to her family. Until then, the community holds onto faith, urging anyone who might have even the smallest piece of information to come forward.
