It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Pastor Aubrey Maye, who went home to be with the Lord last night. A devoted servant of God, Pastor Maye faithfully led our church for 40 years, pouring out his life in tireless service to his congregation, his community, and the Kingdom of God.
Though our hearts are broken by this sudden loss, we rejoice in the unshakable truth that Pastor Maye has entered into his eternal rest. The same promises of hope and resurrection he so passionately preached are now his reward. He has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith — and now, he stands in the presence of the Savior he loved and served so well.
A Life of Unwavering Devotion
Pastor Maye was more than a preacher — he was a shepherd, a mentor, a father figure, and a true man of God. For four decades, he stood behind the pulpit with humility and boldness, proclaiming truth, extending grace, and guiding this church through both triumphs and trials. His sermons stirred hearts, his prayers brought healing, and his presence brought comfort and wisdom to all who knew him.
He ministered not only on Sundays but every day — visiting the sick, comforting the grieving, counseling the weary, and rejoicing with the joyful. His ministry was marked by authenticity, compassion, and an unyielding commitment to the Gospel.
A Deeply Personal Loss
Pastor Maye was a man of profound personal integrity and deep humility. He never sought recognition, yet his impact stretched far beyond the walls of the church. Generations have been baptized, married, comforted, and spiritually fed under his guidance. His fingerprints are etched into the very foundation of this church body and the lives of its members.
His absence will be felt in every pew, in every choir rehearsal, in every Wednesday night prayer meeting, and in every heart that looked to him for encouragement and wisdom. The spiritual legacy he leaves behind cannot be measured in sermons preached or services led — it is measured in souls touched, lives changed, and hearts drawn closer to Christ.
A Time to Mourn, A Time to Pray
As we mourn the loss of our beloved pastor, we also lift up his family in prayer — his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, and extended loved ones who stood beside him and shared in the sacrifices of ministry. May God’s comfort surround them, and may His peace guard their hearts during this time of unimaginable grief.
We ask our church family and extended community to continue praying for the Maye family and for one another. Pastor Maye’s sudden homegoing is a reminder of how precious and fleeting life can be — and how important it is to cling to faith, to love well, and to live with eternity in mind.
Arrangements
Funeral and memorial service details will be shared in the coming days. Plans are being made to honor Pastor Maye in a way that reflects his deep love for the Lord, his service to the church, and the countless lives he helped shape.
Please stay tuned for further announcements regarding these arrangements.
Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant
Pastor Aubrey Maye lived what he preached. He led by example, loved without reservation, and served without expectation of reward. His reward, we believe with all our hearts, is now his in full — a crown of righteousness, a place prepared, and a Savior’s embrace.
Rest in glory, Pastor Maye.
You have shepherded your flock well. Your voice may be silent, but your message echoes in our hearts. Your race is run, your work is done, and now you rejoice in the presence of the King.
We will miss you deeply — but we will see you again.
