PEWAUKEE, WI — Heartbreak has struck the Village of Pewaukee following the tragic death of 17-year-old Tyler Jameson, who drowned in Pewaukee Lake during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 29.

According to a statement from Village of Pewaukee Police Chief Timothy Heier, a 911 call was received at 12:07 a.m. from a caller who reported that their friend—later identified as Tyler—had jumped into the lake and had not resurfaced. The incident occurred near the lakefront fishing pier in the 200 block of West Wisconsin Avenue, a popular gathering spot especially on summer evenings.

Emergency responders from the Pewaukee Police Department, Pewaukee Fire Department, and the Western Lakes Dive Team were immediately dispatched to the scene. After a swift and coordinated search, members of the dive team located Tyler submerged in approximately eight feet of water.

Despite efforts to administer life-saving measures, Tyler Jameson was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

At just 17 years old, Tyler’s death has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, and the greater Pewaukee community. Known for his kind heart and adventurous spirit, Tyler had a bright future ahead of him—a future now devastatingly cut short.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Authorities have not released further details regarding possible contributing factors.

“This is a heartbreaking loss,” said Chief Heier. “Our hearts go out to Tyler’s family and all those who knew and loved him. We are grateful to the emergency crews who responded swiftly under such tragic circumstances.”

In the wake of Tyler’s passing, friends and community members have begun gathering near the lakefront to remember and honor him. Flowers, candles, and hand-written notes now mark the pier where the tragedy unfolded—a solemn reminder of the fragility of life and the deep impact of one young life gone too soon.

Grief counselors and support services are being made available to local schools and youth programs to help those struggling with the emotional toll of Tyler’s passing.

Tyler Jameson will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind. He was a son, a friend, a classmate—and now, a young soul mourned by many.

Rest in peace, Tyler. You will never be forgotten.
