We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Sergeant Ean Esposito of the Berea Police Department. Sgt. Esposito’s untimely death leaves a profound void in our hearts, as he was a cherished member of our community and a trusted presence within our schools.

Throughout his time as a School Resource Officer (SRO), Sgt. Esposito dedicated himself to the safety and well-being of the students, faculty, and families of Berea. As an SRO, he not only ensured that our schools remained safe but also forged meaningful connections with the young people he served. His warm demeanor, approachability, and unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students made him more than just a law enforcement officer. He was a mentor, a protector, and a friend.

Sgt. Esposito’s kindness was evident in every interaction. He was known for his patience and understanding, always willing to listen and offer guidance, no matter how big or small the concern. His work went beyond the badge; it was clear that he cared deeply about the students he served and the communities he protected. His presence in our schools provided not only security but also comfort to those who knew him. Whether he was assisting with school events, offering a listening ear, or helping resolve conflicts, Sgt. Esposito’s impact was felt by everyone who crossed his path.

His legacy will be felt far beyond his tenure as a School Resource Officer. In addition to his role at the schools, Sgt. Esposito played an important part in building positive relationships between the Berea Police Department and the community. He was a trusted face, someone who could be counted on not just to enforce the law, but to be a compassionate advocate for the safety and well-being of everyone. His work helped to bridge gaps between law enforcement and the community, and his ability to approach challenges with understanding and empathy set him apart as a true leader.

As we mourn his passing, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues at the Berea Police Department. His loss is immeasurable, and we recognize the pain and grief felt by all who knew and worked alongside him. Our hearts go out to his loved ones, and we offer our unwavering support during this incredibly difficult time.

Sgt. Esposito’s dedication to public service, his tireless efforts to protect and serve, and his genuine care for others will never be forgotten. His legacy will continue to inspire us all to be kinder, more patient, and more engaged with the communities we serve.

To the Berea Police Department, our thoughts are with you as you navigate the loss of one of your own. We also extend our deepest sympathy to the Berea community as a whole. Sgt. Esposito was a central figure in our lives, and his loss will be felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
