Courtney Ann Coats Arrested for Stabbing of Woman in Sportsman Paradise; Christopher Douzart Also Charged in Drug Bust

CHANDLER, TX — A violent stabbing incident and subsequent drug discovery have resulted in the arrests of Courtney Ann Coats, 34, and Christopher Alan Douzart, 54, following a chaotic early morning in the Sportsman Paradise Subdivision, south of Chandler.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. on June 24, 2025, Henderson County Communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a woman had been stabbed multiple times at a residence in the 10000 block of Paradise Circle. The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to a hospital in Tyler, Texas, where she was treated for nine stab wounds on the left side of her body. She remains in stable condition.

Boyfriend on Scene Says Women Fought Before Knife Attack

Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with Christopher Douzart, who identified himself as the victim’s boyfriend. Douzart claimed the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation between the victim and Courtney Ann Coats, who fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Investigators, including Narcotics Investigator Jonathan Barrios and Crime Scene Investigator Dawson McGee, processed the scene and interviewed witnesses, confirming the extent of the victim’s injuries.

Search Warrant Reveals Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia

A search warrant for the residence—authorized by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee—revealed a separate criminal matter. Inside Douzart’s room, investigators found digital scales, small baggies, and clear pill capsules suspected to contain methamphetamine, all indicative of drug distribution activity.

Douzart was taken into custody and formally charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
