Elderly Man Fatally Shot in South Baltimore Home, Police Seek Answers

Baltimore Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in South Baltimore as 64-year-old Dennis Dorsch. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:48 p.m. in the 1500 block of Olmstead Street.

According to authorities, officers were flagged down by a citizen who reported the shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, police entered a residence and found Dorsch suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are seeking information from the public.
