EMMETSBURG, IA —  The community of Emmetsburg, Iowa, is reeling from the devastating and unexpected loss of Nathan Cowell, a beloved resident whose life was marked by service, devotion, and love. Nathan passed away on June 11, 2025, leaving a profound and unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to cross his path.

Nathan was more than just a resident of Emmetsburg—he was a pillar of strength, loyalty, and humility. A proud United States Marine, Nathan exemplified honor and commitment in every aspect of his life, both in uniform and at home.
