Fatal Shooting at Extended Stay Hotel in Beaverton Leaves One Dead, Suspect in Custody

On August 1, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m., Beaverton Police responded to reports of gunshots at the Extended Stay America hotel located at 10081 NE Cornell Road in Beaverton, Oregon. Upon arrival, officers discovered a homicide had taken place. The victim was identified as 44-year-old Yuri Gonzalez-Gonzalez, a resident of Florida. The suspect, 33-year-old Amir Heidar, a Beaverton local, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the relationship between Gonzalez-Gonzalez and Heidar, remain under investigation, with authorities yet to disclose a motive or any prior connection between the two individuals. Beaverton Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Amir Heidar faces charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses to piece together the events leading to the fatal shooting.
