NACOGDOCHES, TX (July 8, 2025) — The Nacogdoches Police Department has confirmed the identity of the individual killed in a single-vehicle accident that occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Julissa Hernandez, a 21-year-old resident of Shelby County, Texas.
According to preliminary reports, the accident took place at approximately 3:56 a.m. in the 3800 block of N. University Drive. Authorities believe that Julissa was traveling southbound in a 2014 Cadillac Escalade when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck multiple trees along the roadside.
Tragically, it is believed that Julissa was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. Despite immediate emergency response, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other passengers were reported in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
The Nacogdoches Police Department, along with accident reconstruction teams, continues to investigate the exact circumstances that led to the crash.
